Mark Hatfield

Mark Hatfield has 20 years of experience in utility operational technologies. His expertise includes project management, business-process modeling, requirements definition, business-case development, vendor selection, integration and implementation planning, system configuration, deployment strategies, and project audits. He has developed product roadmaps and project-implementation methodologies and is an expert at IT integrations. Mark’s specialty is helping customers acquire and deploy smart grid solutions.

Jon Farland

Jon Farland focuses on energy forecasting and state-of-the-art predictive analytics. He applies data science to use cases across the energy industry such as load forecasting in the presence of distributed energy resources, demand response impact forecasting, and load disaggregation. Previously, he worked at TROVE Predictive Data Science and at DNV GL Energy as a senior consultant. Jon has a Bachelor’s in finance and operations research and a Master’s in applied econometrics, both from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Kenneth Darisaw

Kenneth Darisaw researches energy-efficiency technologies and specializes in lighting, HVAC, and building automation equipment and systems. Before joining E Source, he worked in energy and utility management at the Home Depot and Yardi Systems. Kenneth also worked as a project engineer for Johnson Controls, supporting measurement and verification, energy models, and designing efficient lighting solutions for municipalities and multifamily housing. He has a BS in industrial engineering from Kennesaw State University.

Ted Schultz

Ted Schultz has more than 35 years of industry experience and is known for his focus on providing value to customers. Prior to joining E Source, he served as CEO of TROVE Predictive Data Science, senior vice president of utility solutions at Ecova, and vice president of marketing and energy efficiency at Duke Energy. Ted has held several advisory board positions at the national level, including with the Edison Foundation, National Action Plan for Energy Efficiency, EPRI Energy Services, and JD Power Smart Grid Services.

Michael Carter

Michael Carter oversees the E Source subscription products and is responsible for the company’s growth and strategic direction. He has over 25 years of experience in building the industry’s leading companies, data and information products, and advisory and consulting services. Michael has deep expertise in energy markets, electric power generation, power market analysis, renewable power, sustainability, and the transition to a low-carbon economy. Michael serves as an adviser and board member to many industry-focused businesses and start-ups.

Barend Dronkers

Barend Dronkers oversees product development and strategy for E Source Customer Energy Solutions research and advisory services and data tools. He helps utility members exceed their goals related to energy programs, emerging technologies, and decarbonization. He previously worked as a lead researcher, covering topics such as energy efficiency, demand response, distributed energy resource technologies, and EVs.

Tracy Gehrts

Tracy Gehrts leads the product strategy for the Residential Marketing, Business Marketing, and Corporate Communications services. Prior to joining E Source, she spent eight years as a marketing strategist at Alliant Energy in Iowa where she led marketing initiatives in business energy efficiency, renewables, and economic development. Tracy holds an MBA from the University of Iowa and a BS in journalism and mass communication from Iowa State University.

Michael Hartnack

Michael Hartnack is a senior solution director for the Mobility Service, Distributed Energy Resource Strategy Service, and Technology Assessment Service. In this position, he works closely with utilities and helps them leverage electrification, decarbonization, and mobility technologies to meet their key goals. Michael also oversees all E Source engagements with nonutilities. Before joining E Source, Michael led the Neural Grid and Advanced Transmission and Distribution Technologies research solutions at Guidehouse Insights (formerly Navigant Research).

Joel Westvold

Joel Westvold, PMP, specializes in supporting business development and growth while continuing to support smart utility technology implementation projects. His 30 years of experience include serving as a senior manager for Portland General Electric and an executive manager for a technology solutions provider. Joel has led teams of engagement directors and project managers to deliver nearly 100 smart grid projects, including several projects with more than 1 million meters or endpoints.

Jesse Hitchcock

Jesse Hitchcock researches and advises utilities on transportation electrification, energy efficiency, and utility regulation. Before joining E Source, she led client engagement and policy for EnergyX Solutions. In that role, she helped utilities across the US and Canada use software solutions to improve their efficiency and deep retrofit programs. Jesse also implemented demand-side management, low-income, and EV programs and policies for the Prince Edward Island Department of Transportation, Infrastructure, and Energy.
