Haley Kaiser

Haley Kaiser conducts market research focused on customer experience, energy efficiency, and technology. She is also our research expert on e-channel best practices, specifically for websites and mobile design. Prior to joining E Source, Haley provided marketing, customer service, and project management services to several solar contractor companies in Boulder. She has a BA in environmental studies and a minor in geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Bryan Jungers

Bryan Jungers conducts research on emerging, energy-efficient, and distributed energy resource technologies. His main areas of expertise lie in electric vehicles, electric motors, batteries and energy storage, distributed generation, controlled environment agriculture, and renewable power systems. Bryan brings to the company over 10 years of professional experience as an energy engineer and research analyst, including for the Electric Power Research Institute, California Energy Commission, and University of California at Davis.

Erin Johnson

Erin Johnson is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the E Source editorial team. Her duties include supporting the company’s content strategy; training new writers and editors; and guiding the development, presentation, and governance of high-quality E Source content. Before joining E Source, she was an editor at Sports Publishing in Champaign, Illinois. Erin earned a BA in English from Oregon State University and is a member of ACES, the society for editing.

Logan Jacobson

Logan Jacobson began working as a content manager and editor in 2019. She specializes in making technical writing accessible and easy to read for all audiences. Previously, Logan was a technology researcher for E Source. She researched energy-efficient technologies ranging from clothes dryers to dairy barn cooling systems. Her backgrounds in math, physics, and electronics helped her explore how technologies save energy and identify trends in energy-consumption data.

Sarah Hutson

Sarah Hutson, senior analyst for Market Research Services at E Source, designs and implements market research studies and analyzes results with an eye toward meaningful interpretation of the data. She brings to the company more than seven years of experience in survey research. Prior to joining E Source, Sarah conducted market research within the recreation and tourism industries for a Boulder-based consulting firm, working closely with clients from both the private and public sectors.

Sarah Howie

Sarah Howie works with members to explore, implement, and refine their ever-changing conversations, outreach, and overall brand personas to better connect with residential and business customers, internal audiences, and other community stakeholders. Prior to joining E Source, she worked in the utility industry with Consumers Energy, and provided consulting services to a handful of other community sustainability and energy organizations.

Mary Horsey

Mary Horsey manages the company's portfolio of technology research and best practices, providing members with relevant and timely information on energy-efficiency technologies across all sectors. She develops the strategic research vision for the practice and leads a team of engineers who conduct research on emerging and under-utilized energy-efficiency technologies, ranging from HVAC and building controls to data analytics, electronics, lighting, energy storage, distributed energy resources, and electric vehicles.

Heather Hilgenkamp

Heather Hilgenkamp designs, implements, and analyzes market research studies. Some of the areas she focuses on are customer experience, social media, and website reviews. Previously, Heather worked for a market research firm where she performed a wide variety of studies for a multitude of clients in industries such as energy, hospitality, healthcare, and government. She also worked for the US Army doing research aimed at improving officers’ leadership skills.

Mike Hildebrand

Mike Hildebrand leads the consulting and business development aspects of the business customer account management offerings at E Source. Mike has been working with and for utilities for decades. He has a broad and tenured experience in the energy industry, and he’s led the sales, product management, and consulting areas at E Source. He has also been responsible for sales, corporate strategic planning, customer strategies for key accounts and small and midsize business customers, and new-product development efforts at both regulated and nonregulated utilities.

Joy Herbers

Joy Herbers researches, writes, and edits reports across all E Source services. As the company’s content strategist, she leads enterprise-wide content strategy initiatives. Before teaming with E Source, Joy worked as an editor and copywriter at a business-to-business (B2B) marketing firm whose clients included IBM, SAP, and Cisco. She holds a BA in English with a minor in French from the University of California at Davis.
