In this web conference, we’ll strategically break down the E Source E Design 2020 small and midsize business (SMB) ethnographic research, focusing on the K–12 and multifamily segments.

E Source partnered with Egg Strategy to perform ethnographic market research with SMB customers throughout North America in six business segments: healthcare, K–12, multifamily, restaurant, retail, and small manufacturing. The E Design 2020 SMB ethnographic research looks at SMB customer needs from both an energy and a non-energy perspective. Having open and honest conversations with SMB customers throughout North America uncovered critical insights that you need to consider to effectively engage and serve this ever-challenging sector. We designed this research to highlight critical gaps in utility-SMB customer relationships and inspire new programs, services, and experiences. Don’t miss this opportunity to put yourself in the shoes of SMB customers and view the world through their lens!

    You’ll learn:

    • Five SMB design imperatives that you should act on to bridge the engagement chasm
    • Segment-specific insights and revelations
    • What engagement looks like to these segments
    • New-program, service, and experience ideas utility participants developed during E Design Week

E Source and EnerTech Capital, the longest continuously operating venture investment manager with a focus on energy and power industries, have collaborated to bring a deeper and more-sophisticated level of access to the energy industry’s emerging innovators. To understand utility disruption and the resulting opportunities, it’s important to hear from the entrepreneurs themselves. For our Innovation Showcase web conference series, we’ll feature one industry innovator per event. Participants will learn about the entrepreneur’s technology as well as their market perspective, business strategy, and progress.

This month’s featured company is Tangent Energy. Tangent Energy is a distributed energy resources (DERs) company that provides commercial and industrial customers with the technology, assets and managed services needed to identify and capitalize on economic opportunities on the energy grid without disrupting normal operations. Tangent Energy’s DER management system—named Tangent AMP—monitors grid, facility, and on-site generation assets and alerts customers ahead of high-value economic opportunities. By uniquely building out a DER solution from the customer side of the meter and monetizing it through exclusive relationships with energy retailers, municipal utilities, and other load-serving entities, Tangent Energy motivates and empowers customers to become price makers on the energy grid, while making it easier for the energy industry to access and integrate DERs. Note: This web conference isn’t an E Source or EnerTech Capital endorsement of Tangent Energy.
