Since I'm not wanting to make a credit card payment, rather just know my current balance, I felt the best option was billing questions in the second menu (after pressing all other calls). However, this just transferred me to a CSR. Since there was no way to get back to the main menu, I hung up and called again. I decided to select 'to make a credit card payment' from the main menu. After selecting a ton of options, I finally heard my account balance. This was a horrible experience just to hear how much I owe.

This process can be made much faster by first changing the main menu title, 'to make a credit card payment', to something like, 'to make a payment or get your account balance'. Most IVR's also just assume you want English but give an option for Spanish. This means that for those wanting English, they don't have to press another button. Being asked the type of payment you want to make before being asked whether you want to make a payment or hear your account balance is silly and makes no sense.
