I Googled the utility, went to the utility website, tried clicking on "My Account" first. I logged in and happened to see a quick link on the left-hand side of that home page for "Manage my registered accounts." Once I clicked on that I saw a menu for several things including the ability to update by email and contact information, manage my accounts, update security information, and turn on or off paperless billing. I like that there were many options from the profile page. However, you have to go to a different page to manage how you want to get notifications from the utility. The banner for that menu was at the top, but you have to go to a different page than "My profile" to accomplish some things. I also didn't see a way to get information when the power is out. 220303 Functionality rating 4 Once on the profile page, there were many different options and everything seemed fairly easy to update. Things were easy to click on and use. I would have liked to have the same experience for the notifications page. Instead, you click on drop-down menus to get to the information you want to change. It's still fairly easy to accomplish from there, but the functionality on the "my profile" page was better. 220303 Appearance rating 3 The appearance of the options on the "my profile" page were better than on the page where you update your notifications preferences where it was smaller font and drop-down menus and it wasn't as obvious what to do or what was included because of the way it was displayed. All of it is a bit outdated looking, though, and not as simple and calming as other pages of the PEC website. I did like the alternate shading used on the billing notifications updates. I also liked the color coded buttons for "activate," "edit," or "delete" under "manage contacts" because it made it easier to see what I needed to click to accomplish my task. Same for "reset" and "save settings" for managing billing and other miscellaneous notifications settings. 220303 Relevance rating 3 Headings seemed to make sense on the "My profile" page. I think that something more descriptive than "Miscellaneous" could be used for the middle drop-down menu on the "manage notifications" page and maybe organized a bit differently. For example, why is autopay in miscellaneous and not the billing drop-down? The other thing about the "My profile" page was that there really was no purpose for the "My information" box on the left-hand side. It wasn't clickable and didn't really seem to serve a purpose. I also didn't see any information around communications during power outages other than the outage center. 220303 You would like to control what, when, and how your utility company communicates with you, and ensure that your personal information is up to date.
