220301 Functionality rating 5 I found the Pedernales Electric Cooperative home page to be very functional because it has two sets of links (12 total) at the top leading to various other topics. The first two links were My Account and Outage Center & Map, which as a customer are very useful. Those are most likely the reasons I would be accessing the website in the first place. One change would be the links in the body of the page. While the elements are relatively large, you have to click the >> text to actually navigate to the next page. I figured it out pretty quickly but I could see where some folks might get frustrated trying to locate the actual link. 220301 Appearance rating 4 The Pedernales Electric Cooperative home page has what I would consider a modern professional look. This is accomplished through the use of a consistent color scheme and set of fonts which gives the page a solid look with good contrast among the elements. I also like the spacing of the page elements. Nothing seems crowded or overly complex. I especially like being greeted by a smiling face on the home page and the use of photos throughout the site. The photos humanizes the site and makes it feel approachable. As far as possible improvements, I wonder about the usefulness of the icons in the news items and the bottom elements that include the Document & Media Center. To me they don't add anything, take up space and are non-clickable.
220301 Relevance rating 4 Headings made sense, although it's not entirely intuitive what the different between "my account" and "your service" is. I also like that right under the links is an area that looks to be the place PEC lists items of immediate interest. In this case it was information on the board of directors meeting. This feature is rather useful in keeping me up to date on the current happenings at the utility. As to possible changes, I wonder about the second row of news items (check your August bill for capital credit allocations and follow us on social media). I think the first 3 items should be the top items you want to convey, whereas the second set seems to just add to page's length and may distract from the other elements on the page. Overall though, I did find the Pedernales Electric Cooperative home page nicely organized and well suited as the entry point for the utility's online presence. 220301 You want to visit the utility web site and start your navigation on the main page of the site.Attempt this from your computer. https://www.pec.coop/
