This scenario involves three different tasks, and for each, you are moving to a new home. 1. You are about to move into a house that you just purchased. You’re from out of state, so you’re a new customer and don’t yet have an account with the utility. You want to call your utility and arrange to have the power turned on by the time you move in. 2. You are moving out of your house and outside of your current utility’s service territory. You want to call your utility and arrange to have the power turned off and your account closed so that you can pay your final bill. 3. You are moving to a new house that is close to your old one, so you won’t be changing your utility provider. You need to arrange to have your power turned off at your old house and turned on at your new house.

Navigation wasn't terribly difficult. Since I'm not paying a billing or looking for a balance, I expected my option to be near the backend of the IVR. And with it only taking one button press to hear the option that most closely resembles what I'm looking for is pretty good to me.

Functionality

Similar to the navigation, the functionality was easy too. Wanting to change power locations, turn off current power, or both, was all funneled into one category, rather than three different ones, which was nice. And once I clicked on that, given the more complicated nature of the desire, it went straight into ringing for a representative, rather than forcing me to type in account numbers and the such.

The voice and pacing was good; however, I didn't like how the phone rings when clicking option 4 (for more options). It can be a little startling to the caller if they weren't expected to be funneled into a live person if they're just navigating options. I suggest removing the ringing before moving the customer into more options.
