With 20 years of experience in software engineering and system integration, Gareth Thompson specializes in developing and delivering integrated solutions for electric, gas and water utilities. He has expertise in systems integration; performance testing; and business intelligence analytics for advanced meter infrastructure (AMI), Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS), and Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Gareth’s background also includes helping utilities with AMI field-testing to make sure that the piloted AMI technologies meet client requirements and service level agreements. He developed tools to verify whether the technology functioned and performed as expected and to identify major cost drivers. He holds a BS in computing from the University of Northumbria (United Kingdom).
